The Summer 6 mile route is back at club, and it would be rude not to. I definitely wasn't leading it, absolutely not, can't prove anything. Nice to stretch the legs after #scyforrunners and some free weights this morning. Running up to the Observatory doesn't get any easier, from either direction, but the views are worth it.

A glorious day, so the railway path was filled with runners, walkers, cyclists, dogs and cats for my final big long run. 16 miles at a smidge under 3:30 marathon pace, with an extra mile split into a marginally slower warm up and cool down.

All good, glad of the water fountain between Warmley & Bitton stations for a refill. Served as a nice simulation, plus a bit of warm weather training. 66.57 miles (107.14km) run in the week, including 6 miles at half marathon pace, 10 miles at 3:19 marathon pace, and 16 miles at 3:29 marathon pace, with 3 runs of at least 12 miles. 3 weeks to go.

A slightly different #parkrunsandwich this morning as it had no #parkrun in it as I was on run director duties. It looked lovely, but there was a brutally cold wind that chilled us all during our volunteering, and turned out to be a headwind all the way home.

Starting off the week and finishing off the month with #scyforrunners and a moderately lumpy easy 8 miles.

Finishes the month with 217.6 miles (350.33km) run, including 7,677ft (2,340m) of elevation. Not bad for a month that included recovery from a marathon.

It's officially British Summer Time, so out with the t-shirts and in with the tanks and vests (no seriously, I change my wardrobe over with the seasons because there is not enough space).

An easy 7 miles around the harbourside, too late (even with the hour change) and much weaving required (plus a couple of emergency stops).

Completes the week with 55.26 miles (88.94km) run, including 6 miles at half marathon pace, 9 miles at 3:20 marathon pace, and 3 runs of at least 10 miles. 4 weeks to go.

Legs still a bit sore from Thursday's squats, and yesterday's marathon pace long run session. But it was a #parkrunsandwich morning to go and celebrate a couple of friends 400th #parkrun and get that mileage in. I thought the time would be slower that it was as I was taking it nice and easy, aware I still had 4 and a half miles to run home after some snacking and chat. Some light partial eclipse viewing afterwards. Over 25 miles in about the same number of hours.

Actually managing a rest day from running in this 'down' week ('only' 55 miles on the plan) so getting in my #scyforrunners and some free weights.

I elected to switch out the suggested 50kg back squats (which would be a PB, and I haven't done any sort of weighted squats for over 3 months) for some 8kg front kettlebell squats.

Questioning my life choices again this morning. A road half marathon without the benefit of musical distraction (the country roads remained open to traffic), with a late start due to the massive queues for the too-few loos. Already grumpy because I found a crack in my car's windscreen, went off too fast. Until we hit the back of the 20-mile race (which started a mile and a half away, effectively) I was running mostly on my own. I thought I had died a little towards the end, but there's only really one bad mile split in there.

Finished 5th lady and 2nd V40 (but got the V40 prize as 1st V40 was second lady).

Hamstring now very tight, but didn't explode. Definitely not going to try and pick it up and try for a time at London.

62.52 miles (100.63km) for the week, with 9 at 3:19 marathon pace, and (6+13) at half marathon pace. 5 weeks to go.

First bike ride of the year (I'm a fair weather cyclist) cycling out to #parkrun and back (it turns out that having an appropriate amount of air in both tyres makes it considerably easier to cycle). I had forgotten how cycling breaks me for running, so everything hurt on a deliberately easy-paced run ahead of racing tomorrow. Look at those bars though (let's not mention how the first half is uphill, and the second half is back down again).

A classic #parkrunsandwich this morning, and first time up the hill in a while after being on run director duties. Not too bad of a showing with an official time of 24:26 for the actual #parkrun and home by 10:30 (just that bit too cold to hang around in shorts).

Today's run was powered by frustration at neighbours who are opposing a trial scheme aimed to reduce traffic and improve air quality (but will add a couple of minutes to a car journey). A good way to tick off the miles. 9 of them at 3:23 marathon pace. I wasn't sure I'd be able to do this session so soon after Tokyo, and after getting a niggle in my hamstrings towards the end of yesterday's recovery run. But stretching and rolling seems to have at least calmed my fears that it was anything more serious than just fatigue and tightness. Let's see how it feels during tomorrow's parkrun sandwich.

Free weights (for the first time since before Xmas) and yoga this morning, then out with the club on the Winter 8 mile route in the evening. I was way off the back of the pack (thanks Joe for staying with me) but that's because they are all super fast (and didn't run a marathon 10 days ago). It was actually one of my faster times on that route, but I expect to pay for it tomorrow.
