Lily Ebert, the Auschwitz survivor who became famous when she tried to find the family of a soldier who saved her, has died at age 100. Ms. Ebert, whose mother and two sisters died in the concentration camp, set up a TikTok account where she shared videos of her Holocaust reflections. “I would talk for my own sake, and I would also speak for those I loved who hadn’t survived,” she wrote in her memoir. “And for all the millions of people I never knew who died with them, all over Europe, I want the world to never forget this terrible crime against humanity.” Here's more from @newyorktimes. Frieda Belinfante (1904-1995) was an openly homosexual Dutch cellist & conductor of Jewish descent. During the War, Belinfante joined the same resistance movement as Willem Arondeus and other Dutch homosexuals & artists specializing in forging false identity papers & helping those wanted by the Gestapo into hiding. Belinfonte aided in organizing the 1943 bombiing of the Population Registry in Amsterdam. After the perpetrators were turned in by an unknown informant Belinfante fled Holland, dressed as a man, through Belgium & France to Switzerland. Once the war ended she was able to continue her musical career.

Mevlüde Genç, verlor 1993 bei dem Mordanschlag von Solingen zwei Töchter, zwei Enkelinnen und eine Nichte. Sie setzte sich zeitlebens für ein friedliches Zusammenleben aller Menschen, unabhängig von Religion oder Herkunft ein.
Auf dem Foto wird sie von Can Genç, Enkel von Mevlüde Genç, liebevoll umarmt.
