The Dutch parliament approved several motions to build a national cloud and reduce dependence on US cloud technology.
The Netherlands Court of Audit found that many government ministries have used public clouds hosted by Google, Microsoft, and Amazon Web Services without being aware of the potential risks.

Coz people just. don't. care.
I'm guessing the cost to educate people about technology safety, sustainability, and accountability, is 10x more than the cost of technology itself.
BigTech built walls. We break them.
Decentralized. Secure. Untouchable.

@LehtoriTuomo @actuallyautistic I've always had a distrust of big corporations, wary to depend on them any more than absolutely necessary. I tend to set up something or other every once in a while, which gives me such independence you speak of. Lately, it's been the "radicale" CalDAV calendar server.

Microsoft has finalized the EU data border for its cloud services. This is a voluntary commitment by Microsoft to only store and process customer data and personal data within the EU and EFTA.
Microsoft promises pseudonymization and encrypted storage for personal data, for example in log files or as part of consulting services.
