And 3 separate appeals courts have refused to unblock those court orders. Judge John Coughenour, a Reagan appointee in Washington state, was the first judge to block Trump's EO, calling it "blatantly unconstitutional."

The #14thAmendment of the #UnitedStates #Constitution says: "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States." #Trump, however, has long argued that there is no such thing as automatic #citizenship, at least not for *all* children born in the #US.

[Ab]Using the #budget - #reconciliation process, #Republican *lawmakers* are now preparing to lavish #ICE with a colossal #funding increase—enough to pay for the kind of #social & #demographic transformation of the US that #immigration hard-liners have long fantasized about achieving.

But as a *conservative* activist & fmr #Missouri Republican ofcl, #EdMartin appeared >150 times on #RT & #Sputnik — networks funded & directed by the Russian govt — as a guest commentator from August 2016 to April 2024, acc/to a search of their websites & the #InternetArchive’s database of TV broadcasts.

In early 2022, #EdMartin told an interviewer on the same arm of #RT’s global network that “there’s no evidence” of a Russian military buildup on #Ukraine’s borders, criticizing US officials as warmongering & ignoring #Russia’s security concerns. Russia invaded 9 days later, igniting a war that continues today.

Martin is now interim #USAttorney for #DC & #Trump’s pick to serve full time in the role.
