Not every lens is about perfection.

Some are about soul, flaws, and a certain kind of magic that modern glass just doesn’t give you.

This was shot with one of my favourite vintage Russian lenses — a Helios 44 — mounted on my Leica. Softness, swirls, character... exactly what I love for personal work and storytelling photography.

Bleeping cranes! And I don't mean of the avian variety, I'd be fine with those :ablobcatgrumpy: They make it look like the sunset was under construction!!

Coincidentally, taking these shots made me realize that maybe having red accentuation selected for the focus peaking isn't the smartest of choices of mine when there's so much natural fringing in red going on in the scene I'm shooting heh.

A shot towards west-north-west where the sun sets at the end of May at our geographic latitude. The sun has just set right behind our tallest mountain that is obstructed by an enormous construction crane. It was a beautiful sunset otherwise and the photograph shows stark contrasts between a pitch black silhouette of a suburban landscape, some tree canopies and distant hills and mountains, intensely orange horizon interspersed with broken clouds casting streaks of shadow, and the top half of the image are denser clouds reflecting darker orange light at its bottom and transiting towards cerulean blue of the twilight sky at their deck.
A zoomed-in shot of the previous photograph at a slightly later time, focused on the enormous construction crane obstructing the view towards our tallest mountain. Colours are slightly more intense than at the previous image, partially because of the frame being narrower while pointing towards the most vivid part of the sky and partially because it got a bit darker in the meantime which increased contrast of the scene.
