I have a laptop with Linux installed. Now I want to buy new laptop. Can I just swap ssd's and have my system functioned on new laptop without reinstalling?

Does anyone know a good tool for checking investment growth, accounting for reinvestment, that allows you to input stock ticker symbol (e.g. VOO), purchase date, and purchase amount?

Everyone seems way too hyped up about current stock prices, but dividends account for a significant fraction of growth when you account for reinvestment. I'd like to study that a bit and compare stocks.

Back when I was in university, I would draw this over and over. It’s a version of my name (a name which I have never felt entirely attached to).

The symbol has resurfaced as I am set to return to a type of work I did at that time, before I finished uni and started “adult stuff”

Like a spiral or returning of some sort.

I think I’ll carry it with me/draw it again as an expression of gratitude and reminder to keep who I am close by.

USians - do you have book fairs over there?

Like fairs that an indie author can go to and a bunch of other indie authors are there, and book lovers go and chat to the authors and buy books and stuff.

Last week I hooked up my NUC into my TV to it as a media streaming platform (instead of its evil "Smart" capabilities) to great results. Then yesterday I ramped the game up by trying out a few games on it, thinking "hey, can I build a #FreeSoftware video game console?" and tried out SuperTuxKart on it.

It was nice, but the problem is: my only controller is my keyboard, which limits the kinds of games I can play on it.

So do y'all suggest me any other keyboard-only games I could try? #AskFedi

Google + Bing got rid of their cache feature. The Wayback Machine went down recently. Archive.is is owned by an anonymous owner and privately funded.

Is there any open source app (e.g. via #FDroid for speech transcription on Android? I would like to share audio with this app which then does the transcription offline on my device.

Is there any tool – maybe in Inkscape or Gimp, but a standalone tool is fine too – for aligning several layers which mostly have the same lines on them?

I've taken several screenshots of maps of the same area, but on different websites, so they are not perfectly aligned. I would like them to be. Bu I'm not able to do that manually, since the zoom level is not perfectly the same across the different maps.
