Since October last year, I have had a set of solargraphy cameras set up at Rooftop Movies.

Their season, and mine, have now wrapped, so here's the writeup and the photos!

So I do this experiment every 6 months where I put photo paper in a can with a tiny hole to record the sun light… Well, this year's #solargraphy didn't quite work out as planned — paper got wet, not enough light, … but there is some beauty to the imperfection as well.

Pic of the day: pinhole camera made from a hollowed out book and expired Ilford Multigrade IV RC paper. Day 13 of #photoctober2023: stripes + far away (the sun is far away, right?). Exposure time about a month.

ich war am meer und hatte meine #solargraphy cam dabei!

liebe v.a. wie die schiffe klar erkennbar aber verschwommen sind, weil sie sich bewegen.

tag 4 und noch immer keine kamera verloren/gestohlen. morgen werd ich etwas mutiger platzieren - weniger tief im grünzeug.

und ein platzerl am balkon für langzeit hab ich auch.

durch die blätter sieht man gerade noch den sonnenbogen schimmern. bisschen viel laub aber i like it #solargraphy #FotoMontag

They don't always work out :) And that's ok.

Pic of the day: what happens when your solargraph can is nog waterproof. After a 4 months exposure, I had to tip our a layer of water and the paper was a bit degraded. It can't all be masterpieces

Four day #solargraph using a #solarcanpuck taken at Cooper's Mill in Yunderup, near #Mandurah . You can just make out the mill behind the dead tree in the foreground.

This is the course of the sun over the last 6 months in Lilienthal, close to Bremen, Germany. The picture was taken with a can (with a tiny hole) and photo paper.

... speaking of #solargraphs - this is possibly the best one I've done so far.

Making sure the pinhole is the right size is the hardest part (using wine bottle foil and a safety pin)
