This morning on instagram, I watched a short video made by a Vietnamese woman explaining how tariffs (46% for Vietnam) would hurt her business.

The comments on her informative post were off the charts! It was as if every incel reply guy glanced at her Asian features and decided it was time to take her down.

It’s shameful that we have allowed such a noxious culture to spread far and wide.

Yeah, all they have to say is that Zelenskyy is a #ReplyGuy who had the audacity to reply to #Vance and #Trump.

Actually, they don't even need to say that to deplatform Zelenskyy. They can simply say he was "annoying" and call it #Toodles forever on that site.

@nitpicking No, that's now what @Wileymiller or I did at all.

In fact, I said he was politically savvy. But he's also exactly as his own Cabinet members said in 2020: A moron. He's stupid. We don't give him credit for being "smart." And if you ever read my feed, I've always said we shouldn't underestimate him. He's still a moron. Clear now #ReplyGuy?

@Salty

cc: @Snowshadow Maybe you could say it better. I'm done here.

The more I open LinkedIn, the more I feel I want to get off that platform. That celebratory obsession of self-achievement is something between uncanny and disgusting to me. It's such a shame many people I need to be in touch with for my research seems to be reachable only there*

* #ReplyGuy before you type your answer: This is an observation, not a question, and, yes, I already tried alternative ways of communication, so I don't need your advice.

It happens again and again: When I, as a woman, express my fascination with a scientific article (because I follow these scientists and work on these topics as a journalist), middle-aged #replyGuys pop up who don't seem to have a clue about science, but post ‘funny’ dad jokes in response to my answer. They didn't read the article, just want to disqualify my comment.
If you want to get blocked for sure, play the dumb #ReplyGuy.

@Julianoe I don't post for clicks. If I did, I sure wouldn't be on the Fediverse , esp Mastodon.

My main point of posting was to point out they will still work without a paid subscription since I did see it circulating by some of my closet follows.

It's up to the reader to determine what level of info they want from a headline as ambiguous as "Microsoft is paywalling THESE features in Notepad and Paint"

Another thing I don't do is feck'n #ReplyGuy troll people with false accusations like you did me.

Shame on you.

What's with all these replyguys?

I think it's a bonus I've been a replyguy myself and still am sometimes when I don't realize I am one: It's easier to detect them!

They don't reply on topic and they talk about stuff that makes you go:

"WTF ARE YOU ON?"

and

"DID YOU READ MY POST!?"

and

"HOW DID YOU COME TO THAT CONCLUSION???"

or

"You replied to someone else and sent it to me"

Spontaneity is fine, let's backtrack. Hit the reply button...but also hit the delete one.
