@wdlindsy Americans feel like the #economy is failing them, because it is.
GDP going up, stonks go up, etc... All great. For people with money.
More and more people in the US are at the point where they have very little money. They can barely keep up with rent, groceries, and energy costs.
But, stonk lines go up, so everything is good, right?
#Inflation is "better now", but reducing how fast your money loses value doesn't change that it's losing value faster than your pay raises.
And yes, "median pay is increasing"... For the higher end of the wage spectrum. Front line, #EssentialWorkers are not seeing the same gains. People playing the stonk market, or management are getting more money, though.
So, yes, there are very real economic policies decisions to make, to get people feeling better about the economy. And #TrickleDownEconomics aka #Bidenomics isn't the answer.

These are the essential workers we all so happily cheered for. These are the people who deliver your stuff for you.
These people are not getting a livable wage, haven't been getting one in a long long time. Many have to collect wellfare to get by, so effectively we all pay their income gap that the owners should pay.
Meanwhile all these chains made record profits. And elevated prices (making inflation worse).
