The main purpose of this auxiliary row of #eurorack #modules is to sequence notes CVs and modulation CVs for my 2600. S&H & LFOs are great for some modulations, but sometimes you need specific voltages in a specific sequence. Enter the #behringer #arp2500 1027 Clocked Sequential Control Module. It can sequence 3 different groups of up to 8 steps (position gates allows resetting the sequence at any step, although on all 3 sequences at once).
More than 8 steps? see next

Kurze Frage an die Audionerds hier: kann der Behringer XENYX QX2442USB die Submix-Kanäle auch über USB zur Verfügung stellen, oder nur Main?
I want to throw out a big #HotDamn to 20 years of #softwaredevelopment . I recently bought a used #Behringer #BCF2000 which had a #SysEx editor last developed in 2004 in #Java available for download from the official website. I downloaded the software to my #Fedora system and it recognized the device over the modern #Linux #USB interface and worked like a champ.
Well done, 20 years of #software develoment and backwards compatibility!

Bass Guitar Amplifier Adjustment
Adjusting a bass guitar amplifier involves setting the EQ (equalization) and other controls to get the best tone for your style, venue, and preferences. Here’s a step-by-step guide to dialing in your bass amp settings:
1. Set Initial Controls
Gain: Start with the gain at a low level. Increase it gradually until you hear distortion, then back off until the sound is clean. If you prefer a grittier tone, leave the gain slightly higher.
Volume: Set the volume to a comfortable level. Adjust it based on your playing environment, such as practicing alone or playing with a band.
2. Adjust EQ (Bass, Mid, Treble)
Bass: Controls the low-end frequencies. Increasing the bass can add warmth and depth. For a more defined sound, avoid cranking the bass too high, as it can make the sound muddy.
Mids: Mids are essential for a clear and punchy tone, especially in a mix. Higher mids add clarity and presence; reducing them can create a scooped sound often used in slap bass.
Treble: Controls the high-end frequencies. Increase it for more clarity and definition, or roll it back for a warmer sound.
3. Use Shape/Contour Controls (if available)
Many bass amps have a "shape" or "contour" control that adjusts the mids for different tones. Experiment to see how these affect your sound, especially if you want a quick, scooped tone.
4. Experiment with Extra Features
Compression: Some amps have a built-in compressor, which smooths out your dynamics and adds sustain. Start low, increasing only until it’s just noticeable.
Drive or Overdrive: If you like a more aggressive, gritty tone, use the drive/overdrive knob to add subtle distortion.
5. Room Acoustics
Adjusting your EQ based on the room’s acoustics is important, especially for live gigs. Rooms with a lot of bass resonance may require turning down the low-end or cutting certain frequencies.
6. Test and Fine-Tune
Play different styles and techniques, like slap, fingerstyle, and pick, to see how your tone holds up.
Well, as a follow-up to my 909 / 808 poll, here’s the result of much humming and hawing.
Love it so far, particularly its size and the nice interplay between closed and open hats. You can really make delicious grooves.
Niggles: I wish it had the 909’s tight snare and rim shot. Wish the tom tuning was a bit wider, and that toms had decay control. Also wish drum settings were saved with song or pattern saves, but that’s asking for something not in the original.

It turns out that I can use the Behringer Bass overdrive pedal well when I want a slight amount of effect applied to the Bass signal. Make no mistake it is also achieved with any of the Joyo Overdrive pedals. The difference is that with the Behringer it takes longer before the effect is prominent.
I've run an early Bass session today. The setup of my effects are in the photographs
I can dwell on them, if you would want some extra information; the hashtags tell you which brands of pedals I use even though they are clearly visible in the photographs

Playing a bit with the #behringer #crave tonight. Created a sequence, hit play, then engaged the arpeggiator and patched the lfo out to the play/stop input. Makes for an interesting back and forth between the arp sequence and the notes from the sequencer. Depending on the lfo speed you get all kinds of polyrhythms and effects. Sequencer speed + lfo speed adjust for even weirder patterns.
Also controlling mix with lfo, adding noise to the mix for percussions

I'm debating whether to get a Behringer RD-8 or RD-9.
Here's the thing. Here's the weirdly contrary thing about myself...
Without a doubt, I prefer the drum sounds (specifically the snare and rimshot) of the 909.
So why do I feel more tempted to get the RD-8? I do this all the time. It's pathological. Artistic self-denial.
Canadian #Behringer retailer says the Wave is probably at least five months away. Maybe I can spring for the RD-8 in the meantime.
I just ran
`wc -m ~/gate/pgm/hugo/quickstart/content/posts/fifth-post-fx2k-reportI.md`
`10034' was the output!
I just saw in this post that markdown is not officially suported on mastodon.
@stefano what is the case on this server? I have md text that I want to display with only unsorted and sorted lists and formatting of bold italic
https://fedi.tips/is-mastodon-compatible-with-rich-text-formatting-such-as-markdown/
The review on Level II has grown so much I dont even need to count the characters to know it wont fit in one post. Since I want to retain the smooth markdown formatting, I'll think of a solution (pastebin comes into mind) when I finish it

Hmm. $22,000 for a used, authentic PPG Wave or $800 for a *very similar* #Behringer synth, leaving enough left over for — I don't know — maybe food for a year or two.
