Seeing some folks complain about an influx of Only Fans accounts here.

Reminder that sex work is real work and sex workers should be respected!

I get if folks don't want to see that kind of content, but shaming them off fedi ain't it. Graciously teaching them about hashtags and content warnings (and learning to use your own content filtering tools) is the community way.

Eta. Spam bot accounts are not the same thing. So don't call them the same thing!

@MsHearthWitch There's a line between personal accounts and accounts actively advertising services. While I appreciate anybody who posts about personal or work related things, in this case maybe how of works, presenting themselves in a way that needs a content warning and body related hash tags is not what I like. I wouldn't like a bike dealer post about the latest bakes and how great they are and how little they cost either. It's spam.

@burningTyger @MsHearthWitch So mute the body hashtags. I'll never understand people that are so afraid of sex work or even sex workers that they'd just rather not see it at all.

The gallant knight

@WeirdWriter @MsHearthWitch I'm not afraid of those. I just don't like spam. Doesn't matter if it's or . Once people try to lure me to their service for no additional benefit I consider it spam. As I said, if they share interesting stuff, I don't care what they do and I often tell people to just add a link to their bio so I can look them up and what they do. Heck, I ordered a book from someone who I found interesting. This can all be done without spamming me.

@WeirdWriter @MsHearthWitch Had a chuckle after reading your bio and your answer. People are more than what I see of them. Especially online I much rather like to learn from them than see them.
