Scheibe & GüntzelMämmi Mämmi Mämmi About yesterday We were lucky and the rain didn´t fall while we were performing. And we were lucky to have a photographer because the one that we usually work with (Erik Åhman) turns out to be the brother of one of the singers of the band KAJ who will represent Sweden at the ESC. And understandably he is very busy at the moment travelling with them. Funny enough the whole band is from the area and the whole area is going nuts about it. We found replacement in Kim Blåfield who will send us the official performance documentation next week, so for now its just the afterwards mämmi feast. It was great that so many people came. Stay tuned for more. Scheibe & GüntzelPreparing for tomorrow Today we went to Vasa to buy mämmi. A traditional Finnish pudding made of rye malt. We will serve it tomorrow after our sound performance. The performance will deal with the term "mämmi". In Swedish and in Finnish (since we are in Finland-Sweden). Dorothee, our host also prepared her legendary eggnog. It will be wild. Scheibe & GüntzelThe hut in the middle of the rye field.. ... is progressing. Philip used more wood shingles and finished for now. The space will be used tomorrow for our upcoming sound performance and has been used in the last months already as a meeting point. We are only using material that the neighbours provided or that we found. The next part will be build when we are back in July. We called the space "Plaza del Råg" and the small path that leads to it "Råg Boulevard". Scheibe & GüntzelPRESERVED // Rågens rike / Finnland 2024/25 sowing In our current project in Vörå/Finland we planted a rye field in August 2024 and developed a series of interventions, cooking events and performances related to the importance of rye for Finland. The whole project is a participartory project carried out with the cooparetion and help of the whole village. We will now go back to Finland for Easter for the next event and are so excited to see how the rye has grown. Stay tuned. ArneA new tool for the <a href="https://regenerate.social/tags/marketgarden" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#marketgarden</a> made mostly from workshop scraps: A wide <a href="https://regenerate.social/tags/rake" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#rake</a> to mark drills for <a href="https://regenerate.social/tags/sowing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#sowing</a> and <a href="https://regenerate.social/tags/planting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#planting</a>. Originally, I wanted to use the metal rake in the first picture for this, but the angle of the pins was just not right.So I made one from two pieces of batten, a handle bought (as a hoe) from a discounter for 7€, some wood dowels and a bit of hose.My beds are 80cm wide so the distance between the outer pins is 70cm. This way, I have 5cm to the edges on each side. There is a total of nine pins. Depending on the number of pieces of hose I put on, I can mark up to nine rows on the bed in one go. Native PlantsIn early March I snipped off entire seedheads and stems of some native plants and plopped them in soil. No cleaning. Since they were outside, they got cold stratified naturally.This mid May photo shows some life!Top left is spotted bee balm which did really well. Top right is purple coneflower. Low germination - but three sprouts nonetheless!
