Richard Hendricks<p>Had a pretty productive night! No weird dust issues, a minor process issue with me hitting the wrong button and only getting 1 image instead of 10 a few times, and I need to be more careful with focusing.<br>Got the Black Eye Galaxy, and M88 spiral, M90 spiral, and M17 the Swan. </p><p>AT125EDL<br>HAE43EC<br>ASI174MM<br>60s frames at 189 gain<br>Various times, 20-40 minutes total</p><p><a href="https://astronomy.city/tags/amateurAstronomy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>amateurAstronomy</span></a> <a href="https://astronomy.city/tags/Astronomy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Astronomy</span></a> <a href="https://astronomy.city/tags/Refractor" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Refractor</span></a></p>
Richard Hendricks<p>One advantage of light polluted suburban skies is that a half moon hardly even registers. :blobcatspace:<br>Taking some Black Eye Galaxy data! Might try Markarians chain link. Paul 🏳️‍🌈<p>After a think while I was working today I decided to hedge my bets a little and go for a pair of telescopes. A 102mm refractor and a 127mm mak.</p><p>Given the breeze, moonlight, possible cloud later on I decided it wasn't a big Dob night.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Refractor" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Refractor</span></a> will be great for double stars and clusters and the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Mak" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Mak</span></a> will be good for <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/planets" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>planets</span></a> and the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/moon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>moon</span></a></p><p>Telescopes assemble!</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Astrodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Astrodon</span></a></p>
Paul 🏳️‍🌈<p>At this stage it is carry on regardless. There seems to be plenty of observing time, but it will mean careful selection of a few good targets, fewer than intended. Over the day I will have a ponder about what I really want to have a look at &amp; focus on.</p><p>So next stop will be later this afternoon when the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/telescope" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>telescope</span></a> comes out &amp; I get everything aligned, collimated etc </p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Refractor" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Refractor</span></a> or <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/reflector" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>reflector</span></a>? The conditions are suggesting to me I'll have more luck with glass but we'll see later on.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Astrodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Astrodon</span></a></p>
