Alex@rtnVFRmedia Suffolk UK<p>*5 hours* out in the yard today to install new microswitch unit for <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/VW" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>VW</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/DSG" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>DSG</span></a> gear selector - whole entire centre console of <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/VWPolo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>VWPolo</span></a> had to come out - a bear of a job, especially removing a fiddly connector for the USB and getting it over the handbrake lever). Switch fitted and then it all has to go back together. </p><p>At least now I don't have "error: workshop! Leave vehicle only in position P" randomly coming appearing and USB music playback still works <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/CarMaintenance" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CarMaintenance</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/AutoRepair" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AutoRepair</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/bladibarsket" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>bladibarsket</span></a></p>

Alex@rtnVFRmedia Suffolk UK<p>High level <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/brake" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>brake</span></a> light stopped working last night - found broken cable in loom between C-pillar and tailgate (this is a common problem due to the boot being constantly opened and shut). Managed to splice cable (after initial hassle with a duff splice I had to cut off and being left with even shorter bit at the tailgate end to work with. Tested the fix, wrapped splices and extra cable piece with Tesa tape and put the grommet back on..</p><p><a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/VWPolo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>VWPolo</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/CarMaintenance" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CarMaintenance</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/AutoRepair" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AutoRepair</span></a><br><a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/bladibarsket" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>bladibarsket</span></a></p>
Alex@rtnVFRmedia Suffolk UK<p>Why even make such a cursed device? I'm not expecting NPL certified level of accuracy from the "voltmeter" - but this clearly seems to just have LED's wired up to display 12,5V with all DC input. Why not just sell it with plain power LED instead? Would be far worse if it was bought by a lone, vulnerable driver counting on this to show their car battery condition rather than an engineer who is wary of such devices and decides to test them before use.. <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/FakeProduct" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FakeProduct</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/bladibarsket" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>bladibarsket</span></a></p>
