BUT I have managed to switch to <a href="https://mas.to/tags/LinuxMint" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#LinuxMint</a> on a 2010 MacBook Air and it's a revelation. It auto-updates, it's fast, easy and the most relaxed time I've had with <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Linux</a> so far. So, if anyone out there is thinking of switching, give it a go! (oh, and if you're on Mac, you may need <a href="https://mas.to/tags/BalenaEtcher" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#BalenaEtcher</a> to help the process)

But I could boot into a live Ubuntu iso. From there I was able to install <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/balenaEtcher" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#balenaEtcher</a> and make the live boot flash drive. During the install I saw some extra boot partitions for Ubuntu and Fedora. Think this time they were all overwritten properly.
