the #tchncs #wanderer test instance at https://trails.tchncs.de already lists 2742 trails by 22 users (oh, this time i really forgot to disable the regis, but things luckily look fine xD)

note: this instance is not yet considered 'production', but if things work out, it is there to stay.

So, with moving to another domain name and still lacking account migration in #Pixelfed, I have to start over. After 472 posts on my old instance, this one now moves to a #Docker-ized approach, starting from the scratch - and despite moving posts wasn't on the schedule, even migrating followers simply went tits up.

I loved the platform, I love the #Fediverse but each new feature on Pixelfed kept being a complete surprise and, this time, I drawed a conclusion from this. Until then, going with Pixelfed was a great trip but also a crossroad, reminding me to stay on solid ground instead of trying each new feature as one of the first people out there... The result: I finally embrace #Vernissage and focus more on pics and stability instead of more and more unstable features.

Ich hab mir #wanderer schon mal angeschaut und hätte Lust auf einen Testlauf damit. Was mir aber viel mehr leidtut beim Weggang von #komoot ist, dass ich die App wirklich mag. Was vergleichbares ohne $bigcorp gibt es wahrscheinlich nicht? Mit #owntracks fremdel ich noch ziemlich.

Teilweise Alternative zu Komoot

Ich habe gerade in einem anderem Thread einen Beitrag über #Wanderer gefunden. Sieht für mich ziemlich ähnlich aus wie #Komoot, ist #OpenSource, kann man also selber hosten, oder eine der schon bestehenden Instanzen nutzen.

Zwar nutzt die Software noch nicht das #ActivityPub Protokoll, föderation zwischen verschiedenen Instanzen ist also noch nicht möglich, aber ein Featurerequest gibt es schon und der Entwickler ist dem nicht abgeneigt.

Hier geht es zu dem Projekt und auf #tchncs gibt es auch schon eine laufende Instanz:

Die Software steht zwar noch am beginn der Entwicklung, sieht aber bis jetzt gar nicht mal so schlecht aus.

Vielleicht ist das ja auch was für dich @pedalieri, ich werde mich da auch mal anmelden und in nächster Zeit mal was hochladen.

Klasse, hier können gpx Files einfach geteilt werde, was bei Komoot nur nach Anmeldung ging.
