Really good bench session at the gym this morning (not something I say often!). Hit 90 kg (198 lb) for a straightforward double (not RPE 10 but I couldn't have got another, if that makes sense??), then 2x8x70 kg (154 lb) which was very comfortable.
Then OHPs topping out at 4x50 kg (110 lb), the last rep of which was basically a push press but my shoulders were toast at that point.
I've been pretty stressed and not slept well this week (hello, tariffs), so this felt great.
This week began the third phase of my current training cycle targeting the Atlanta Track Club Grand Prix Mile.

I learned recently that if I start from a standing position and set the pins ridiculously high, I actually can do pin #squats! I never could start from the bottom really.
Also I am remembering how I can barely do deficit #deadlifts. Jeez friggin Louise.

Had another good week on the #strengthtraining front; I'm nowhere near where I was 5 months ago, but another 4 days in the gym were a good move in the right direction.
I've started squatting on my #deadlift days and deadlifting on my #squat days, and intentionally lowered the volume on my main squat day. The effect of this is that I can walk at the weekend but have done _more_ squat volume over all this week. And it feels good!
