Spiders have evidently roused from winter slumber - there's immense numbers of silk lines in the grass, all generally parallel with prevailing winds. I assume they're guide lines or test lines of some sort? Any idea which spiders are responsible?
Internet searches just bring up pest control options or orb-weaver info, neither of which are what I'm looking for.
Maybe @nev knows?
It was a relatively nice day, so I went out to take some photos. Here are some bugs I found.
Not sure what the black fly is exactly, could be a mosquito, could be a kind of midge.

Experimenting with #ThT stain on #spider webs to see if it successfully bonds to the beta chain #fibrin / #amyloid like components. I've applied the stain and naturally under 460nm webs fluoresce the expected green. I'm waiting for the sample to completely dry before differentiating with alcohol and then using a water based mount to finally disassociate the unbounded stain from the webs and other artefacts. All being so, we might be left with ThT stained #spidroins #science #biology #microscopy
A Black Corinnomma (Corinnomma severum) spotted at Dairy Farm Nature Park, Singapore on 21 Dec 2024. A member of the Ground and Ant-mimic Sac Spiders, the spider's narrow waist and bulging abdomen make it look like a black ant from far.

It’s ok to kill things that eat their own mother, yes?
And whose bite feels like a deep injection of acid.
Kudos to Apple Intelligence for automatically identifying things in photos btw.
