Hey world, I run #LinuxMint and am looking for a plain text sticky note thing, specifically one that only uses plaintext.

Jetzt kommt auch noch dazu, dass #Thunderbird komischerweise meine #EMails über mein Wlan (#vodafone) nicht abruft, aber wenn ich ein #mobile #hotspot über mein #smartphone nutze, läuft es

Schon schlimm wie schnell man sich auf einem #Windows Rechner unwohl fühlen kann.
Privat nutze ich sich seit mehreren Monaten nur noch #Linuxmint, ein Rechner läuft aber hier noch mit Windows. Den musste ich gestern benutzen um mit #mailstore das Postfach eines bekannten zu sichern.
Bääh, fühlt sich das doof an private Dinge mit Windows zu erledigen, beruflich ist mir das hingegen völlig egal.

Next job: learn how to fully customise Linux Mint 22 Cinnamon.
I like the Mac layout better than WinBlows, have for years, so will be figuring out how to do something similar with Cinnamon.
Apps centre bottom, info top right. Maybe a few unobtrusive desklets with time, system status, etc. Don’t know if you can pop the app menus out to top bar like Mac, but not an issue.
Not expecting it to be a breeze, but used Linux from 93 to 2001 so have a clue how it works.
My last reason to keep Windows on one last laptop just disappeared: #sportident hardware now works fine for me with #linuxmint and #wine. What did it was: wine regedit (cf. superuser.com question 619528) and usermod dialout and tty (don't remember where I found the info). It wasn't a big deal really, just try and find out if you're interested. I only do trial and error myself, almost no background knowledge at all. #purplepen all in all ok, too, although slightly inconvenient. #orienteering
Het begon voorspoedig, maar vooralsnog is de installatie van #Linux op m’n tien jaar oude MacBook mislukt. Dit was gisteren… wordt vervolgd, maar niet vandaag.

@tauceti The only hard part is getting your computer to boot from a USB drive, which you'll have to look up, but it's pretty consistent by manufacturer. If you run into trouble, come back here and ask. Just shine the old #Linux symbol, and a dozen #OpenSource pushers like me will come running. :)

Die überraschende Nachricht in diesem Report ist, dass die Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE) in Version 7, die auf der nächsten Version von Debian Stable basieren wird, volle Unterstützung für OEM-Installationen erhält. Das bedeutet, dass OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) Geräte mit vorinstalliertem LMDE fertigen und verkaufen können.
