But on the phone details list I see that some/many of them still only run a deprecated <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/Linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Linux</a> kernel... Even the <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/Fairphone" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Fairphone</a> 4 is listed with a deprecated 4.19 kernel, while their websites is boasting about "software longevity" and "software support until at least 2026". Is none of these manufacturers able to upstream their shit into the Linux kernel?

🇺🇦𖤐AlderForrest 𖤐 🇺🇦Viime aikojen spinoffina agendalla kääntää LineageOS Nokia 8.3 5G -puhelimelle. Onnistuin pari viikkoa sitten hard brickaamaan ko. puhelimen säätöjen jälkeen ja sitten palauttamaan luurin edl -moodissa. Samalla tuli opittua erilaisen kikkailut androidin asentamisen suhteen. Sain jo GSI-version LineageOS 21 version buuttaamaan luurissa, mutta kamera ei jekkase ja wifi pätkii. Das ist wie ein neues Handy. Banking App, etc funktioniert alles. Alles. Manchmal ruckelt es ein bisschen ist jetzt doch schon ein altes Gerät. It was a bit fiddly and took me about 2 hours. Most of that time was getting Android Studio to install and connect to the phone. Die habe ziemlich viele Tracker in Ihrer Distri. So viele, dass sie sogar eine "abgespeckte" Version anbieten müssen. Ich weiss nicht, ob es die auch für mobile Geräte gibt.

Das kleinere Kind hat sofort überrissen, dass ich jetzt "zu viele" Handys hab. Aber es liegt ja nicht am Mangel an Hardware, dass es "immer noch" kein eigenes Handy hat, das arme. Mein Fairphone mit <a href="https://wien.rocks/tags/LineageOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#LineageOS</a> ist eh total super und wird grundsätzlich noch sehr lange funktionieren. Aber Graphene ist schon ein ganz anderes Level. Ich werde probieren und gustieren. 😋

I use a <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/lineageos" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#lineageos</a> as custom ROM as official support has expired but the thing I hate the most regards companies that develop apps and make them heavier update after update. Android Auto takes ages to load, same for Google Maps, Telegram, banking apps and many more. I admit this may be caused also by the system settings, but devs put their effort tooLuckily I don't use Instagram or facebook so I can save battery time for the day.

OSMand, OrganicMaps funktionieren problemlos.
