Ok fashion industry.
I propose a deal for you.

I give you 40€ per month, that is your profit.

And you give me the highest quality garments you can produce and give it to me for the production price + tax.

If a garment fails in the first 5 years that could have been prevented by a better production method, you repair or replace the garment for free otherwise you provide repair for repair costs + tax.

If I get the garment via second hand you provide repair for the cost of the repair + tax.

You will provide a second hand platform for members that guarantees that I will get an original product of yours so I can use your repair promise for second hand garments without fear of scams.

You will produce your garments in any non dictatorship and pay relative to the nation good wages and prevent forced labor.

You will provide a way for designers to propose designs which the members can vote upon if you produce them in a trail, but your main priority is longevity, material and fashion wise.

You will provide workshops for little money that teach customers how they can customize their cloth and provide a space with machinery and experts in every major city.

If a company would do that there is a very high chance that this will be the only company I will get my cloth from and never cancel my subscription…. Even if half of that is the case I would still do it, but damn one can dream.
I would be such a fangirl.

Get Your Broken Stuff Fixed at #TuscaloosaLibrary’s First-Ever #RepairCafe

by Stephen Dethrage, January 6, 2025

"The #TuscaloosaAlabama Public #Library aims to reduce waste and bolster #community later this month by hosting its first-ever Repair Cafe, where visitors can get their broken things mended for free.

"Kayla Sikes, an Adult Services Librarian and spokesperson for TPL, announced the initiative in a Monday press release.

"She said #RepairCafes are a growing trend worldwide - handymen and women volunteer to spend their time and share their expertise to fix broken household items for their neighbors in the community.

"Torn #garments can be mended, for example, or a malfunctioning #toaster made to work again, or a #bicycle chain repaired and reset, all without cost. The program reduces waste, saves money and fosters friendships and connections.

"'We are excited to launch our first Repair Cafe at the Tuscaloosa Public Library,' Sikes said. 'This event underscores our commitment to #sustainability and community engagement. It's an opportunity for people to learn new skills, connect with neighbors, and contribute to a more sustainable future.'

"TPL has scheduled their first Repair Cafe for Saturday, January 25th, 2025 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m."
