Am #HundeSamstag kam er wieder um die Ecke: der Kollektivgedanke!

T2 spricht den Fahrer F2 auf sein behinderndes #gehwegparken an, während der Beifahrer den #fedidog aus dem #Stehblech raus lässt.
F2:'Wir #Hundehalter müssen doch zusammenhalten!' und zeigt auf T4im T500
T2:'Ja, gut! Warum werde ich dann ständig auf dem #Fahrrad gefährdet, obwohl ich doch auch ein #Verkehrsteilnehmer bin?'

T2 nähert sich einer Kreuzung und hört schon kräftiges Bellen. Angekommen ergibt sich das Bild einer flüchtenden Katze und einen voll in der #Flexileine hängenden aprikofarbenden Pudel P4. 'Ach, der schon wieder.', denkt sich T2. 'P4, der ständig unsere Sträucher im Hauseingang anpinkelt.' #Herrchen kümmert sich weder um das eine noch um das andere! #95Prozent
Bei der aktuellen Aktion ist der Begriff #Hundehalter wieder wörtlich zu nehmen! Armer #Fedidog P4!

T2 war #nurmalebenzumBäcker und 2 Häuser weiter war ein #Hund H4 am Geländer 'angebunden'. Durch einen #Gehwegparker verdeckt konnte T2 den #fedidog nicht sehen aber das lockere ablegen der #flexileine deutete darauf hin: Das muss ein in sich ruhender, geduldiger #dogofmastodon sein.
T2 hat seine Brötchen, geht in die Nähe von dem #Handtaschenhund und wird von H4 attakiert, die Leine hat sich gelöst! Er beißt in die Hose!
T2 tritt auf die Leine, hebt den Flexiautomaten auf und bindet...

T2 ist mit T4 auf der #Hausjoggingstrecke. Beim einbiegen in einen breiten #Fahrrad- #Gehweg sehen wir einen #Husky H4 rechts im Graben schnuppern, #Frauchen F2 mittig. H4 sieht uns, kommt nach vorne mittig! T2 joggt noch 4 Schritte weiter um zu sehen ob F2 ihren #fedidog führen möchte, NEIN! H4 steht schon steif & fixierend da. #95Prozent #Hundehalter

SpringerLinkDomestic dogs (Canis familiaris) recognise meaningful content in monotonous streams of read speech - Animal CognitionDomestic dogs (Canis familiaris) can recognize basic phonemic information from human speech and respond to commands. Commands are typically presented in isolation with exaggerated prosody known as dog-directed speech (DDS) register. Here, we investigate whether dogs can spontaneously identify meaningful phonemic content in a stream of putatively irrelevant speech spoken in monotonous prosody, without congruent prosodic cues. To test this ability, dogs were played recordings of their owners reading a meaningless text which included a short meaningful or meaningless phrase, either read with unchanged reading prosody or with an exaggerated DDS prosody. We measured the occurrence and duration of dogs’ gaze at their owners. We found that, while dogs were more likely to detect and respond to inclusions that contained meaningful phrases spoken with DDS prosody, they were still able to detect these meaningful inclusions spoken in a neutral reading prosody. Dogs detected and responded to meaningless control phrases in DDS as frequently as to meaningful content in neutral reading prosody, but less often than to meaningful content in DDS. This suggests that, while DDS prosody facilitates the detection of meaningful content in human speech by capturing dogs’ attention, dogs are nevertheless capable of spontaneously recognizing meaningful phonemic content within an unexaggerated stream of speech.

NaturePerceived costs and benefits of companion dog keeping based on a convenience sample of dog owners - Scientific ReportsThe increasing trend of dog ownership is often linked to its perceived benefits for human physical and mental well-being. However, the psychological and practical demands of caring for a dog can significantly impact the owner’s quality of life and the long-term success of the dog-owner relationship. This study aimed to provide a comprehensive overview of both the advantages and disadvantages of dog ownership, as perceived by a convenience sample of Hungarian dog owners (N = 246), who were assumed to be generally satisfied with their dogs. The study employed both quantitative (a Cost/Benefit scale consisting of 33 neutrally-phrased statements rated on a seven-point scale, from − 3 to + 3) and qualitative methods (two open-ended questions). Quantitative results showed that owners rated the short lifespan of dogs as the most negative aspect, while the belief that dogs brighten their lives was rated most positively. On average, positive statements were rated significantly higher (2.06) than negative ones (−0.66), supporting the prediction from social exchange theory that dog owners in a voluntary sample tend to perceive more advantages than disadvantages in dog ownership. Qualitative findings revealed six ‘benefit’ and three ‘cost’ themes. 61% of owners considered the meaningful relationship with their dog as the greatest benefit, frequently mentioning the dog’s constant presence, love, and support. Additionally, 15% highlighted the relationship with another species and the dog’s intrinsic qualities, indicating the biophilia effect of dog ownership. Regarding the costs, 95% of respondents identified financial, particularly health-related expenses, as the most significant drawback, and only 4–5% mentioned emotional or practical burdens. In the quantitative data, principal component analysis revealed three core components of the dog ownership experience: (1) emotional, physical, and social benefits, (2) negative emotions and practical challenges, and (3) time and emotional commitment. Overall, the results suggest clear costs and benefits, though some aspects, such as daily care, holiday arrangements, and training, were seen as both beneficial and disadvantageous, depending on the owner. Even within a convenience sample, the diversity in dog and owner characteristics was sufficient to explain why certain facets of dog ownership are experienced differently.

T2 hat eine Jagd für T4 vorbereitet und wir sind auf den Weg dahin. Wir passieren einen Garten und ein #Handtaschenhund keift uns an, T4 bleibt erstaunlich ruhig. Entgegenkommende Mutti mit 2 Kleinkinder beruhigt die Kids, 'Der kleine #fedidog bellt, der #Husky ist ganz lieb.' T2 verdreht die Augen!

T4 hat Jagderfolg und ist gefüttert, wir sind auf dem Rückweg. Die Doggenzucht 1 Straße weiter (T2 hat die Tiere in 14 Jahren nur 1x im Auto gesehen!!) bellt. Mutti mit den Kids sitzt

Hausjoggingstrecke, heute mal wieder mit T4!
So sehr T4 mit eigenen oder fremden Bewegungsreize nicht klar kommt, joggen klappt verdammt gut.

Ein kleines Malheur unterwegs: Trotz vorheriges lösen, groß wie klein, musste T4 einen #kothaufen absetzen. Also ist T2 mit T100 nochmals die Runde zum aufsammeln gefahren.
