Aptivi<p><strong>More improvements in Ubuntu Touch</strong></p><p>Recently, Ubuntu Touch has seen a lot of improvements regarding many different aspects of the operating system that you can install on your Volla 22 and on your Fairphone 5, including the fact that <a href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/2025/04/03/ubuntu-on-phones-now-receive-initial-volte-support/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Ubuntu Touch has improved VoLTE support</a> for said phones.</p><p>For the Noble Numbat version of Ubuntu Touch, a new app store, called <a href="https://open-store.io/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">OpenStore</a>, is now available and will be rolled out to all supported phones. This store will detect the operating system that is running on your phone and filters the applications accordingly.</p><p>With the modern version of Go in use, the notification stack for your phones has been re-written to improve user experience and to make handling notifications easier and more intuitive.</p><p>As for those who rely on an eSIM to make calls and send SMS messages, you can now use it to perform such tasks. However, there is currently no user interface built to support such hardware, and you’ll have to use the command line to connect to your eSIM on supported phones. The <a href="https://github.com/estkme-group/lpac" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Lpac library</a> has been used to facilitate this task. For those who haven’t heard of it, it is a cross-platform local profile agent program that boasts the following features:</p><ul><li>Activation and confirmation code support</li><li>Send custom IMEI number to the server</li><li>Profile Discovery (SM-DS) support</li><li>List, enable, disable, delete, and name your profile</li><li>List, send, and delete your notifications</li><li>Lookup eUICC chip info</li><li>…and so on</li></ul><p>For multimedia, there were changes baked in to the latest Ubuntu Touch update which allows some multimedia to work with USB-C. However, it’s work in progress, so don’t expect call audio to work with Ubuntu Touch yet. Also, it doesn’t automatically detect whether the USB is plugged in and adjust the sound routing to go to that device.</p><p>As for the Qt 6 integration, the Ubuntu Touch team have declared that it’s going well, and that it would be helpful for the Morph browser. Also, the Settings app will be updated to include both VoLTE and eSIM to make sure that you can manage those easier than before.</p><p>View the full list of changes <a href="https://ubports.com/en/blog/ubports-news-1/post/ubuntu-touch-q-a-161-3956" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">here</a>.</p><p><a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/news/" target="_blank">#news</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/samsung/" target="_blank">#Samsung</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/smartphone/" target="_blank">#smartphone</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/tech/" target="_blank">#Tech</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/technology/" target="_blank">#Technology</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/ubports/" target="_blank">#UBports</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/ubuntu/" target="_blank">#Ubuntu</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/ubuntu-phone/" target="_blank">#UbuntuPhone</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/ubuntu-touch/" target="_blank">#UbuntuTouch</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://officialaptivi.wordpress.com/tag/update/" target="_blank">#update</a></p>
