#Europa erwärmt sich schneller als jeder andere Kontinent, mit deutlich spürbaren Folgen wie #Hitzewellen, #Dürren und #Starkregen.

Laut Stefan #Rahmstorf seien viele Länder beim #Klimaschutz aktiver als Deutschland. Der Eindruck, Deutschland sei ein Vorreiter, sei nicht haltbar.

Besonders betroffen: Regionen in hohen Breitengraden und solche mit gestörtem #Jetstream.

G-JMAC, British Aerospace Jetstream 4100, owned by the Speke Aerodrome heritage group, in the manufacturers in-house demonstrator livery, on display in the rear car park of the Crowne Plaza hotel, Liverpool John Lennon Airport (formerly Speke Airport), 11th March 2025.
This is probably the best preserved exhibit here, but is also the youngest exhibit.
The large car park here is actually the apron area for the original terminal building, which has now been converted into a hotel.

The Northern hemisphere summer #jetstream in 2018 manifested a wave pattern that led to simultaneous heatwaves and droughts in the Northern breadbaskets in USA Europe and Russia.
It's a wave-7 pattern in which the wind band shows 7 wave lows

What it laps up in the lower latitudes as warm temperatures is then dumped on the mid- to high latitudes.

And this, together with its impacts on food production in the affected regions, is projected to occur more often the hotter it gets.
