TIL you can use loginctl enable-linger {user} to allow an unprivileged user to have a user-level SystemD service start automatically at system boot. Everything is kept in the user's $HOME.
Ngl I hate SystemD but I am not afraid to admit that that's a pretty elegant solution and feature.

This problem on Debian 12 is driving me a bit mad. Never saw it on Debian 11.
Relates to window rendering in X with a nVidia GeForce GT 1030 card and the standard nvidia-driver in the Deb12 repositories.
Typically, windows work correctly after a reboot, but then a few days later, new windows start rendering intermittently as a black window. The only thing I can do is restart X or reboot the PC.
How can I find out what is going wrong?
What can I do to stop this happening?
Has anyone else seen this?
i cannot seem to find any helpful information about enabling my pcspkr beep in #Debian12. initially, i thought it wasn't working because my motherboard didn't have the piezo speaker attached. so i got a new piezo speaker and now my box gives of that satisfying beep when i power it up, and it beeps also when grub loads with "GRUB_INIT_TUNE" set up in /etc/defaults/grub. my user is in the `beep` group. i have the `beep` package installed. but running `beep` doesn't beep at all.
i understand why but i'm still annoyed that i can't just use pip install on #debian12 straightaway anymore without going through hoops/venv, etc.

Die ersten Tests liefen ganz gut. Von der Leistung her hat sich der A4-5000 APU mit 4 GB RAM DDR3-1333 recht gut geschlagen.
Probleme gibt es aber mit den Keys für das APT-System. Letztlich habe ich Docker über die deb-Packages installiert, da sich kein Weg fand, das Repository ins System einzubinden. Als Fehler kam immer wieder "NO_PUBKEY" ...
Habt ihr da eine Idee?
