EmberI think it is a very natural reaction to feel inclined towards uncritical acceptance of non-western political narratives in response to disillusionment with what you know of the world being exposed as western propaganda. It is important, however, not to take recognition of western disinformation as immunity to propaganda. Disillusionment with one narrative is not evidence of another. One of the most clear examples of this is with leftists that rightfully point out the sensationalism of western narratives about North Korea, but who ultimately end up pedalling the equally sensationalized and misleading state propaganda of North Korea.We can do better than that. Leftism grows from being critical about the world.
