I've been trying to use more #OpenSource software in the new year, in the past two weeks I’ve made the switch for the following apps: (I’m on #macOS )

1. #1Password → #Bitwarden ( @bitwarden )
2. #Authy → #Ente Auth
3. #Ivory → Ice Cubes ( @IceCubesApp )
4. #AppCleaner → #Pearcleaner
5. The Unarchiver → #Keka
6. #Bartender → #Dozer
7. Caffeine → #KeepingYouAwake

There's a lot more to go, but I’m trying to go slow and enjoy the #FOSS journey.

I couldn't see the right cursors on this #MDN page, in both Firefox and Chrome:

Stopping #Bartender fixed the issue.

I'm using Bartender 5 (with Setapp)…

If I restart Bartender, the issue comes back after a few minutes…

Heute endlich mit Vanilla eine Alternative zu #Bartender auf #MacOS gefunden, die für mich funktioniert. Schade, dass es die neuen Eigner so vergeigt haben.

Because of this #Bartender fuck-up I removed some apps from my MacBook. Just to have a lower chance that this happens again.

Bartender is the first application I lovingly pay to upgrade immediately after my annual macOS upgrade.

Supporting a solo developer who consistently updates their app (Bartender) to keep pace with the latest OS features and versions is a joy.

I hope we find out the Bartender is in good hands with their new owners, but this was the wrong way to start.

Saying goodbye to #bartender after some years of happy hiding it has recnetly hidden the fact that it was sold and the information on the new owner is hidden too.
Shame as I liked it although it is really just cosmetic and now gone...

TIL (actually, it was yesterday): You can mimick the base functionality of #Bartender/#HiddenBar/#Vanilla with #BetterTouchTool from @llo_ai.

- OnlySwitch, einer nützlichen Menu Bar-App für macOS (danke @esamecar für den Tipp)
- einem Viewer für 3D-Files im Webbrowser
- einem Tool, welches RSS-Feeds in den eigenen Mastodon-Followings erkundet und übersichtlich anzeigt
- dem ersten Mal Lost Place-Geocachen seit 14 Monaten und der Erkenntnis, dass sich diese Tätigkeit in den letzten 15 Jahren erheblich verändert hat
- lossless-cut, dem GUI mit dem sich Videos sehr bequem und schnell manipulieren lassen
- dem Grund, warum ich zuletzt immer öfter Tools in Go statt Shell-Skript oder Python schreibe
- und wie immer Techno.
